Plasprime Grey Grit 10L Renderers Primer
Plasprime original Grey Grit Stabilising Primer has been specially developed using a unique waterproof Polymer for the rendering professional. It primes and stabilises most exterior surfaces, including previously rendered walls, prior to the application of new render.
Made with 20% recycled plastic and coloured grey, making for easy controlled application and can be applied straight from the bucket with no stirring required. It can be applied over porous and non-porous areas to give a surface that dries evenly, giving excellent adhesion and a faster, easier finish.
Plasprime original Grey Grit has been specially developed for preparing new & old walls such as brick, block, concrete (free of release agents) and previously rendered walls.
Improves mechanical key on substrates and porous surfaces and eliminates the need for an initial scratch coat saving time and reducing materials & costs.
It stabilises problem surfaces including:
-
Old render
-
Porous and non-porous surfaces
Important: Plasprime original Grey Grit is for external or internal use. For smooth surfaces, bonding renders and very high absorbency backgrounds. Not suitable for priming surfaces onto which Plasterboard or Cement based backing boards are to be fixed by means of an adhesive.
Preparation
Surfaces must by dry, clean and free from grease, dust or loose material. Please ensure the removal of any loose or flaking material prior to applying Plasprime original Grey Grit.
Please ensure that any surface to be rendered is strong enough to support the weight of the new render.
Application
Apply Plasprime Grey Grit straight from the bucket with no stirring required with a soft brush or short pile roller to give an even texture over the entire surface. Allow to dry completely. Drying times are dependant on the porosity of the surfaces and ambient conditions. Once dry, apply new render in the usual way.
GreyGrit can be applied directly to damp substrates free of release agents.
Please note ambient temperature must be over 5°C (41°F) and remain so for several hours until completely dry. Warning, low temperatures significantly increase curing times.
Render must be no more than 25mm thick due to sheer loadings and weight stresses.
Always test patch any areas of concern to ensure substrate is sound and free of release agents and dust.
Please note, Plasprime Grey Grit must not be diluted.
Protect localised surfaces from splashes during application, if splashes occur remove using warm soapy water prior to drying.
Coverage
Coverage of Plasprime Grey Grit is dependant on the texture of the surface being prepared. As a guide this 10 litre tub will typically cover 30m2.
Cleaning
Clean tools and equipment with warm soapy water immediately after use. If splashes occur remove using warm soapy water prior to drying as very difficult to remove once fully cured.
Storage
Store and transport securely in an upright position. Ensure the lid is secure. Store up to 24 months from date of manufacture in original, unopened packaging in cool dry conditions within the temperature range +50C (41°) to +250C (77°) and out of direct sunlight. Protect from frost
